History of the Reading Tree

In 1986, the Reading Tree was established to help all ages improve reading deficiency. The curriculum is published by International Learning Systems for Public Schools. Through the years, the Reading Tree has been recognized on a national, state and international level:

Highlights:

President Reagan and wife, Nancy applauded The Reading Tree curriculum by stating: "I am confident that this curriculum can significantly reduce illiteracy and thus enrich many thousands of lives."

Through the recommendation of the Ashwaubenon Asst. Superintendent, Herbert Grover, Sec. of Education for the State of Wisconsin, recognized The Reading Tree and our efforts at the Superintendents and Curriculum Planners meeting.

In 1989, the Reading Tree and CESA 7 began a partnership to meet the needs of at-risk youth in Brown County.

The Reading Tree has presented to the Florida Curriculum Planners and Adult Education Coordinators. From these presentations, a Guatemalan curriculum has been developed and established.

Through the participation of St. Norbert College and The University of Green Bay, education majors participate and teach curriculum to help students, young and old, enrich their lives through reading.
